Contamination Free Mixing Is The Process Of Removing

Feb 22

Contamination free mixing is the process of removing unwanted materials from a production substance or product. These unwanted substances can be either physical or chemical in nature. They can occur in pre-production, during the manufacturing process or after production. Often times these unwanted materials will be dust, particles, or debris that may have come in contact with the product during transport or storage.

Often these contaminants will be dispersed into water or the environment after they are discharged from the production facility. Environmental testing is used to establish what level of pollution can be safely discharged into a mixing zone. The test results contribute to statistical modelling and assist mapping of the contaminant concentrations in the effluent plume downstream from the discharge point. Reasonable levels of contamination are determined by assessing the effects on fish migration, slime growth, water quality and clarity and how quickly the pollutant disperses in the receiving water body.

In addition to physical and chemical contaminants, other types of contamination include biological and cross-contamination. Biological contamination can occur when food or beverage products are contaminated by pathogens that have been introduced to the product during production or handling. It can also happen when the same equipment or utensils are used for different foods, especially those that have high risks of pathogens (such as leafy greens, raw eggs or meat, soft cheese, or bean sprouts). Food-to-food cross-contamination is common in restaurants and can cause people with certain allergies to have a life-threatening reaction.

Chemical contamination can happen when a product is stored in a container that previously held a different substance and the impurities of the previous product are transferred to the new batch. It can also occur if a container is not properly cleaned before it is reused for another substance. The resulting contamination can affect the chemical composition and microbes of the batch.

In the field of agriculture, it is important to get agricultural chemicals and powders mixed together or dispersed into water evenly and consistently. This is so that the nutrients can be distributed evenly throughout the crop for maximum effectiveness. In the past, farmers have relied on pumps to do this job but they can be slow and inefficient. This is where a portable mixer like the EvenMix comes in handy. It can be installed on an IBC tote or agriculture poly tank up to 3,000 gallons and mix the contents quickly and efficiently. The unique design of the EvenMix uses aerospace engineering to incorporate pump technology and variable pitch blades that can be used in both plastic and linear drums. This helps avoid clogging and prevents cross-contamination between multiple drums.
